| Since he was twelve years old, Venture has been perfecting his skills in art. He was often puzzled that so many of his fellow students in school were unsure of their future course in life, because he was certain art would be his chosen profession.. While in high school he studied the Art Instruction courses from Minneapolis Minnesota. He was selling his work while in high school and after graduation he enrolled in the Famous Artists Schools of Westport, Connecticut. He has studied oil painting at workshops under nationally known artists, Jim Wilcox, Gerald Merfeld, and Zang Wenxin. His awards include: First place Brown's Gallery Boise River Festival Contest, First place Idaho Bluebird design for license plates, Western Idaho Fair Purchase Award, and Five awards with Ducks Unlimited of Idaho and Oregon. He has been juried into the Boise Art Museum Artists Exhibit and Idaho Paints Idaho juried show. His paintings hang in many corporate collections including: United Heritage Life Insurance, Blue Cross of Idaho, Key Bank, Idaho Independent Bank, AmeriTel Inns, St. Lukes Medical Centers, Boise Heart clinic, Albertsons Inc. and many private collections. Today he is best known for his large oil paintings of the rivers, valleys and majestic mountains of Idaho. He teaches oil painting classes and conducts workshops locally. |
